We can accommodate up to 4 people in our holiday cottage as there is a King size bed and a bunk bed. It is rustic, cosy, has a fully equipped kitchen and is a perfect base from which to explore Snowdonia, or to simply come and enjoy the tranquility of the gardens and surrounding landscape. Visit our Rhiw Goch Cottage Page for details and booking information.
Passionate about the energy and beauty of Snowdonia, we moved here in 2018 and got to work bringing buildings up to a good standard. We are currently listing on Airbnb, Vrbo and Stay in Wales as well as having this dedicated website.
We are Peter and Kerry, keen health enthusiasts, founding our own private natural health association, we have expertise in nutrition, naturopathy, emotional bodywork and strong interests in homeopathy, psychological astrology, mystical texts and anything that helps us grow as individuals. We have solar panels, our own water supply, a forest to collect wood and we grow some of our own food - if you get the soil right, the earth takes care of you! We are using some permaculture principles and want to learn more biodynamic principles.
We provide comfortable holiday accommodation and facilities in a beautiful rugged environment near Betws-y-Coed, the heart of Snowdonia National Park. The air is clean and fresh, we cannot hear any road, there are no streetlights for miles and we don't get much in the way of phone signals. Just peace. You can walk up a stony track onto a maze of forest tracks or venture into the forest along a public footpath - both right from right out of the door. Or you can explore all the secluded areas of the landscaped gardens. Most of our guests are hikers, aiming to bag a few mountains while they are here; others are cyclists, either road or mountain; others want gentle walks and sightseeing. Snowdonia has a lot to offer! We can see Moel Siabod from the gardens, it's the closest mountain to climb and just a couple of miles drive to the start of a path. It's 20 a minute drive to Pen-y-Pass and the Pyg path up Snowdon.
This area of Snowdonia National Park is full of possibilities for outdoor activities. The Welsh Government's site Visit Wales gives a good overview of activities in Snowdonia.
The Snowdonia mountains are a great buzz for climbers, offering some serious challenges and the highest mountain in England and Wales. See the Gwynnedd Council website Visit Snowdonia for more information.
We are very close to the Penmachno mountain bike trails. A few miles North is Gwydir Forest Park which includes the Marin trail. The first, greatest and most famous trail centre at Coed-y-Brenin is 22 miles to the South.
There are plenty of mapped out walks within a short drive. See Walking Britain for a good long list. A slightly longer drive and you are in the mountains in the county of Gwynnedd. See the council's website Visit Snowdonia. There are a short list of walks from Betws-y-Coed at Mud and Routes. Or walk straight from our door, along the Roman road and onto the forest tracks between us and Betws.
The amazing Zip World is right on our doorstep. At Bleanau Ffestiniog there is the Zip World Slate Caverns and at Betws the Zip World Forest.
100 lakes and almost countless rivers make Snowdonia a popular place for the angler. See This Website for some good destinations.
Canoe almost anywhere there's river, and there's lots of those. The National White Water Centre is 25 miles away at Bala.
Coming soon, when we have somthing to talk about!
